Unspoken Feelings Of A Gentleman Book Review by The Luminaries book club

The everyday man loves the idea of being the ideal gentleman. The issue remains that it’s almost like a dream we can feel with our fingertips but always beyond our grasp, an utopia situation to some. However, there are a few league of gentlemen out there and to this few we raise our glass and give our respect.

The Unspoken Feelings of a Gentleman captures the struggle of a young boy who grew up trying desperately to be the wrong and unruly man life and peer pressure taught him to be. It gives an enlightening insight on the stereotypic mindset that men are brought up with, “A real man shows no signs of emotions and never breaks down”. The author, Alex, shows us, through his own story, how destructive these bottled up feelings become and how they mar a man’s image of himself and tarnish his belief in himself. There’s really nothing worse than a person with no self image who tries to be like others and in the long run has no value for relationships anymore.

I love the story behind this book because I relate a lot with this ideology, it is definitely what most men today are brought up with. I’m sure that almost all men are taught the same. It’s like a cancerous growth spreading generations after generations. It’s high time we have a different league of men who are golden in character and have respect for life.

It’s quite a self help book that every growing young man should have on his shelf. This is definitely a go to book on learning how a true gentleman handles his emotions.
