Like A Virgin Book Review— By Joseph Agboola
This is one of the best business/entrepreneurship book I have read so far. The author, Richard Branson, tried as much as possible to share his personal experience in every chapter of the book.
Although, as I looked through the content I was initially overwhelmed by the number of chapters in the book, but as I started reading I understood the purpose and appreciated each short chapters.
The author touched every topic that concerns business and our society like space, economics, poverty, energy, e.t.c. He was able to make the business minded reader see what it takes to start a business, fund a business, sustain a business, and relate with your employee and customers.
Towards the end of the book he laid more emphasis on leader/CEO to employee relationship. He said, “If your workforce is happy and well motivated, your customers are more likely to be happy.” He believed that in business, employees come first, then customers and then shareholders. He laid emphasis on ‘Interprenuership’ and leaders having direct interaction with their employees. He propagated the mantra: COMMUNICATION IS KEY TO BUSINESS GROWTH.
Reading this has given me lots of insight to business and leadership. The book was worth reading.
